A round up of basically everything I love to peruse on the internet.
I have wanted to write this post for awhile, but have been playing around with the format in my head. Toggling back and forth on whether to do multiple entries – maybe one just featuring blogs, another stores, then youtube etc. Ultimately I decided to start here – a highlight of my cream of the crop picks from each category. The places that I get excited to look for new ideas and inspiration each day. Of course, I read a ton of other blogs and shop at many more stores, but these are my of the moment picks if you will, everything that I am truly excited about right now. My hope is that this will turn into a mini inspiration series of sorts, going more in depth in each subsequent post. For example, outlining exactly where and how I like to shop as well as new influencers and just general areas of creativity that I’ve discovered. Without further adieu, read on below for my favorite places to get lost for hours and apologies in advance for any procrastination that follows. Also, be sure to look towards the bottom of the page for some links to wish list pieces from these stores/designers.
The Anna Edit – I have been a long time reader of Anna’s blog and might even venture to say that her site was the first that I truly enjoyed reading day in and day out. I still love how well maintained her blog is and how each post has so much thought and attention to detail. The topics she covers have evolved from just beauty to all around lifestyle including fashion, fitness, and cooking. I admire her minimal, clean, modern aesthetic, and she gives the absolute best organization inspo. She has motivated me to do many makeup/wardrobe clear outs and I like that her reviews are always honest and reliable. She also just seems like a genuinely nice person who I would love to be friends with. (I could include her in the Youtube section below as her videos are top notch, relaxed, and feel like you are just chatting with a friend).
Fashion Me Now – A rather new to me find in the past year, but nonetheless I am smitten with Lucy Williams’ style. She is a fashion icon, always looking effortlessly tomboy chic with a touch of femininity. Basically I end up coveting all of her jeans.
Minimalist Baker – My absolute favorite for plant based meal inspiration. Andrew and I make at least one recipe by Dana weekly and we have yet to experience any flops. The dishes are relatively quick and convenient for weeknight cooking, while remaining healthy. Hands down one of our best purchases of the year was her cookbook, which at this point is tattered with use.
Jess Ann Kirby – Her style, similar to Fashion Me Now, is classic with a feminine twist. I find every outfit she posts to be beautiful, but also attainable and most importantly wearable. I like that she doesn’t feature crazy expensive designer items, but rather nice pieces that are authentic to her look and lifestyle.
Fashion Mumblr – I came across some of Josie’s videos around the holidays and since then have been hooked. She is so friendly, positive, and nice – it is impossible to feel bad after catching up on her Youtube. She gives an honest look into the life of a blogger and while her style errs extremely feminine/girly, I do end up liking many of the pieces that she picks out in hauls.
L’amour et la musique – An absolute guru for all things green beauty/skincare related. Her reviews are very honest and it is obvious that she is not just pushing product. She enjoys the process of trying out new formulas and I appreciate her candid nature.
Lily Pebbles – I have to mention Lily in a Youtube round up – she has some of the best vlogs and is always real with a dry sense of humor. Whenever she uploads a new video, I can’t wait to watch. Recently I’ve really been enjoying her Q&A’s as well, which are super informative and honest.
Anthropologie – For anyone who knows me, this will come as no surprise. I have adored this place since I was young – both the in store and online experience are right up my alley. I could peruse the site for hours to take in all the new arrivals, while I also love browsing in person as the retail experience is meticulously arranged with stunning design elements around every corner. The whimsical and feminine vibe of the clothing perfectly aligns with my taste and I can always find a piece that will make me happy for years to come. Also, their homewares are not to be overlooked as they are unique and can jazz up any apartment. Andrew and I registered here for our wedding and I’ve loved everything that we received.
Shopbop – A massive online retailer, but I appreciate its simple navigation system, excellent curation of what is on trend, and great mix of designers – from very high end to more affordable options. Also, you cannot beat their stellar return policy and easy shipping, a huge bonus for online shopping. (P.S. They have a really great sale going on right now, up to 25% off almost everything!)
Credo Beauty – My favorite destination to shop for green/organic beauty. This San Francisco based company has a massive stock of organic makeup and skincare lines. If you cannot make it into a store, email them and they will provide some excellent recommendations for you within a very short timeframe. However, if you are able to go into one of their brick and mortar locations, I would highly recommend it. I went to the Nolita store a couple weeks ago and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The assistant spent quite a significant amount of time finding the perfect color matches and formulas for me. I left feeling very content with my purchases and with the piece of mind that I had not made a mistake.
(I could pretty much include anything on this list here, but these are a few that I am enjoying on Instagram specifically right now).
Organic Bunny – A green beauty, non toxic maven with fabulous product recommendations. Sometimes on her stories she will do quick tutorials featuring the products that she is currently loving.
Hannah Bronfman – If you need some workout inspiration, Hannah’s insta is where to turn. She is constantly squeezing in a new class and somehow makes it look exciting rather than like torture. I tend to watch her stories during early morning instagram scrolls in order to gain some motivation before hitting the gym/class.
Deliciously Ella and The Mae Deli – The Queen of plant based eating inspo. I love seeing Ella’s daily breakfasts, typically some yummy combination of oats and pb that just makes my stomach growl. We also must visit her deli when we are in London for some of those mouthwatering-looking lunch plates.
Ulla Johnson – The ultimate laid back California girl vibes. I have a couple of her dresses and absolutely adore them. Whenever I see her pieces, they just look so comfortable, while remaining refined and effortlessly beautiful. They make me daydream about lying out on the beach all day with salt water hair and tan skin before watching the sunset. (If only the clothes had magical powers to make this sort of thing reality, but you know it’s pretty close).
Doen – I only have one top from this line, but I can’t get enough of it. A breezy, go with everything white shirt that again feels very effortless, yet still has exquisite detail. A similar look to Ulla Johnson, I enjoy how they style everything on their site…are you sensing a theme?
Sea New York – I have yet to take the plunge and order anything from this line but I have been ogling this particular designer for quite some time. The clothing is unexpected including feminine details like ruffles and lace without being over the top.
Again this is by no means an exhaustive list of everywhere I look for inspiration, but simply what I am loving right now. I will keep you updated as I have new great finds to add.
