On the heels of this post, chatting all about Fall trends – I wanted to delve into this whole red phenomenon a bit further. The bright, bold shade has taken over Instagram, blogs, youtube videos, and it does not show any signs of losing speed. Honestly, as I mentioned, I am more than alright with the craze as I love a bit of red splashed throughout a look to add some immediate interest and zest. It is a breathtaking color with plenty of variations – there is surely a shade to suit everyone.
Today I wanted to talk about the classic Fall red – a deep burgundy, which I believe is universally flattering. It’s romantic, cozy, and an absolute staple color. A shade that will come back year after year just as soon as the leaves start to change. I am looking forward to pairing this rich Autumnal hue, with a bit of cream for a clean, punchy contrast. Personally I am loving this chunky knit, paired with this skirt, and these slides! And for the weekend – this sweater paired with these jeans are everything. Take a look below for some more burgundy and cream picks. Hopefully these will provide a bit of inspiration for the cool and crisp weather that is right around the corner.
I also wanted to switch things up a bit today by highlighting some men’s styling ideas. Riffing off of that same Autumnal palette burgundy and cream – there are a bunch of Fall pieces linked below that any man in your life will enjoy. These are wear forever items that can truly form the building blocks of a wardrobe. Before putting this post together, I asked Andrew what he believes are the workhorses of his closet. He immediately went to chinos as they are more or less what he reaches for every single day before heading to work, out to dinner, or even dressed down on the weekends. In the warmer temps, these are perfect paired with a classic button-down and as it gets colder, he prefers a thicker knit sweater on top. These are fail safe looks that will never go out of style and he can wear year after year. When asked what his favorite brand for these chinos are, he immediately went to Bonobos. Without a question, he has worn their pants for years – frequently visiting the guideshop in Georgetown to get his perfect size. He explained that their chinos are the only ones he has tried that are entirely comfortable, fit like they were custom made, and last for years. A very strong testament to the brand 🙂 I’ve highlighted quite a few more ideas/men’s inspo in the widget below if you’d like to take a peek.
