Warmer days have me longing for the beach.
We had such a great weekend away in New York City and got back late Sunday evening. Saturday was kind of chilly and rainy but miraculously on Sunday the weather felt like we were transported to LA. We sat outside during a delicious brunch at Cafe Clover – soaking up some sun for the first time in what felt like ages. Of course as soon as the temperatures rise above 60 degrees, my mind starts wandering towards the fact that Spring and Summer are approaching and I will finally be able to break out those shorts, t-shirts, and slides. Now is also a great time to stock up on swimwear as most designers and brands have just released their new lines for the season so the selection is top notch.
My love affair with warm weather and strutting around in bikinis goes way back. As an infant, there are pictures of me decked out in one bikini after the next and my mantra was – the more sparkles the better. Over the years my choices have become slightly more refined, however my love for the two piece swimsuit is unwavering. My swimwear of choice for the past couple of seasons has been hands down, the high waisted bikini. I took a polka dot Kate Spade one with me to my Bachelorette Party last year in Puerto Rico and don’t think I have ever loved a swimsuit so much. (That particular one is no longer available, but here is a similar floral option). The style is slightly retro and incredibly flattering on so many body types. They seem to have leg lengthening magical powers. Marysia and Solid and Striped make some of the best bikinis around, but I have also linked to a bunch of other favorites in the widget. If you are heading out for a warm weather getaway some time soon, you really can’t go wrong with any of these.
